01Day

Flight to Rome, Arrival at the Vatican & First Guided Tour

Your travel experience begins at Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” with a morning meeting with our Agency’s escort/group leader and luggage check-in, as each passenger is allowed 1 piece of hand luggage up to 8kg and 1 checked suitcase up to 20kg. At 10:55 you depart on the direct SKY Express flight and land at Rome Fiumicino Airport at 12:00 (local time). There, a private minivan awaits for a comfortable and quick transfer to the 4* HOTEL DELLA CONCILIAZIONE, which enjoys an excellent location just a few steps from St Peter’s Square. Once you have settled into your rooms, in the afternoon you set off on an organised, leisurely walking tour of Rome with an official guide. Crossing the Castel Sant’Angelo bridge over the Tiber, you wander through the picturesque cobbled streets (sampietrini) and discover the iconic Piazza Navona with Bernini’s fountains, the imposing Pantheon and the famous Trevi Fountain, where you will toss the customary coin. For your first evening, we suggest enjoying a classic Italian aperitivo with spritz and antipasti at a traditional wine bar, followed by an authentic pasta carbonara or cacio e pepe at a local trattoria. Overnight stay.

02Day

Roman Holiday by Vespa, Photo Shoot at the Monuments & Shopping

After breakfast at the hotel, you live the ultimate “Vacanze Romane” experience thanks to the unique Travelbee.eu gift: an exhilarating tour of the city on authentic Italian Vespas, accompanied by a professional photo shoot at Rome’s most iconic monuments and film locations, so you can keep unforgettable memories. Afterwards, you have free time to enjoy an authentic Italian espresso at the historic Sant’Eustachio Il Caffè or handmade gelato at Giolitti. The afternoon is perfect for a stroll around the elegant Piazza di Spagna with the Spanish Steps and for shopping along the famous Via del Corso and Via Condotti with its renowned fashion houses, while for the evening we suggest dinner in the atmospheric Monti neighbourhood. Overnight stay.

03Day

Ancient Rome, Panoramic Views & Trastevere

After breakfast, the day is devoted to the grandeur of Roman history. We suggest a visit to the imposing Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill to see the greatest monuments of the ancient empire up close. The afternoon is perfect for a leisurely walk up the Gianicolo hill for panoramic views over the whole of Rome. In the evening you head to the city’s liveliest and most picturesque neighbourhood, Trastevere, where we suggest you lose yourself in the illuminated alleyways and dine at traditional osterias to the sound of Italian music.

04Day

The Vatican, Campo de' Fiori & Return to Athens

You have breakfast, check out and leave your luggage safely at the hotel reception. As you are right next to the Vatican, the morning is ideal for a suggested visit to the magnificent St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums with the famous Sistine Chapel (Cappella Sistina). You then walk to the open-air market of Campo de’ Fiori to stock up on local Italian products such as parmesan, truffle, cantucci and limoncello. In the afternoon you enjoy your last paninis and tiramisu before returning to the hotel. At 17:15 you board the private minivan for your transfer to Fiumicino Airport. After ticket check-in, you depart at 20:05 on the SKY Express flight and arrive in Athens at 23:05, full of flavours, images and memories of the Eternal City.

The trip has a relaxed pace, but we will walk up sloping alleys and stone paths. If you have any mobility difficulty, contact us before booking.
